La Chaîne
des Rôtisseurs is an international gastronomic society founded in Paris in 1950 & is devoted to promoting fine dining & preserving the camaraderie & pleasures of the table. The “Chaine” (pronounced
shen) unites professional & amateur gastronomes in a private, not-for-profit society, committed to promoting the
culinary arts & enology through example, education, & camaraderie. The confrérie also encourages the development of young professionals by awarding scholarships & sponsoring
competitions; and as part of an international organization, the Chaîne fosters friendships among members around
the world.
Camaraderie...
The Chaîne has members
in over 80 countries, & local members may share in other chapters' activities on a Regional, National, or International
level. In the U.S., there are approximately 6,000 members in almost 125
Bailliages across the country. Membership is by invitation only & our Bailliage's membership is constantly growing, but we
welcome new members & guests to our diverse functions.
Gastronomy...
La Chaîne brings together professionals (chefs, restaurateurs, hotel owners/
managers) & non-professional members from around the world, who share in the "spirit" of the Society.
This association, dedicated to fine cuisine & wine, is devoted to promoting & developing gastronomic values
while at the same time widening its focus to ‘table art’. While a confrérie
is a "brotherhood," women have always been welcome & they take an active role in the Society. La Chaîne offers the ultimate opportunity to meet people who share a common
interest in fine dining & great fellowship.
